Finished in Alpine White, this 1988 Gibson LP Custom is a rare factory made three pickup model. That's right, this is not some at home route job LP - this is Gibson factory craftsmanship and it has been put together wonderfully. The Alpine White has faded as you can see to a nice creamy yellowish hue that blends seamlessly with the gold hardware. The pickups are all original Gibson patent number alnico humbuckers and all three are screamers! The neck features a slim 60's profile that is blinding fast, a bound ebony fretboard with large pearl block inlays and the classic split diamond headstock inlay. There are some non original parts and they are as follows : the truss rod cover, the nut, the replacement Gibson Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece. The tuners are original. There was a locking nut installed at one time on this guitar which left some holes on the headstock and have since been repaired. The neck has been refinished at one time and you can see that this has added a bit towards the finish checking and cracking. The body has not been refinished. This beast of rock weighs in at 10.48 pounds and comes with its original hard shell case. Serial number 81258533.
